It is architecturally an amazing achievement, a must see for sightseeing, placed in Downtown Dubai. Although not one for vertigo sufferers, it has an observation deck on the 124th floor where you can place yourself in the centre of the hub of skyscrapers, malls and lights of the city. Try timing your visit for sunset for an unforgettable experience, although with Dubai’s endless sunshine you may have to wait a while.

The souks and markets are brilliant variations of colour and culture, where goods are bought and sold and bargaining is advised. The Dubai Spice Souk displays a range of spices, gold, fabrics and perfumes for unique buys. For those who love to cook, it is well worth the visit. From nearby here you can get a cruise on a traditional wooden boat for a 10-15 minute journey from Bur Dubai Abra Dock. Along this creek of Bur Dubai you can reach the Al Fahidi District at the Eastern quarter. Walking around these calm lanes will provide a relaxing atmosphere after the hustle and bustle of the markets. Established by traders, the area hosts merchants and art galleries. You can join a walking tour in which you can learn about the local heritage and find the old city wall and white mosque.
For something a little different, try a hot air balloon ride across a desert for extreme escapism, or a desert safari in Hajar Mountains for extreme adventure.
