Have a holiday adventure in Benidorm

Benidorm

During the bleak, wet winter months, most people start to dream of parties, sun and adventure. Benidorm, on Spain’s Costa Blanca, has a perfectly sunny climate from May until October and is famous for its vibrant nightlife and beaches.

Benidorm beaches: the Levante beach

The Levante and the Poniente beaches are famous throughout the world for their beautiful golden sands. Levante is party central during the summer months and even though it can accommodate 5,000 sun beds, it can still get crowded during peak times.

That shouldn’t put you off though – there’s still plenty to enjoy. If you want to enjoy some healthy exercise during the day, then you can always take up paragliding, jet skiing or water skiing.

If this sounds too exhausting then you can just chill out on the pristine sands. You can even book hotels and find a beachfront location or coastal view to make the most of your trip.

Take a coffee at the Poniente Beach

This venue is more laid back than the hectic atmosphere of Levante. The beach is more popular with families and is less crowded. The promenade is a wonderful place to enjoy a snack or drink. The beach is cleaned daily, so it’s ideal for sunbathing too.

Lookout for some history from Malpas beach

Malpas lies in between Levante and Poniente beaches, and used to be dominated by an historic castle. The French built the castle and the British had great fun blowing up the building during the battle of Trafalgar.

The last vestiges of the castle ruins were destroyed in 1928 and today the promontory is dominated by the Mirador.

Activities in Benidorm

This town really does have something for everyone. If the idea of dancing the night away in a nightclub doesn’t appeal to you, then why not take up a water sport. Explore the sea on board catamaran with Sailing Altea; you’ll also have the opportunity to try some snorkelling.

You can even try a bicycle tour around the region, stopping off at local bars and cafes for refreshment. You’ll be cycling through orange, almond and lemon groves, and this is a wonderful way to take in the local scenery.

Clubs and bars in Benidorm

Even if you wouldn’t be seen dead in a nightclub at home, it’s great fun to do something different when you are on holiday.

The main strip is Avenida Communitat Valencia. Some people prefer to stick with what they know and there is even a bar called Yorkshire Pride while some of the very best entertainment can be found in the Old Town.
